ABB | Professional Services | 110740 | $34.5B | Switzerland | Tensor plc | Tensor WinTA.NET | Time and Attendance | 2011 | n/a |
In 2011, ABB Group deployed Tensor WinTA.NET at the ABB Limited factory in St Neots, adopting Tensor plc’s Time and Attendance application to unify workforce timekeeping and site access control. The implementation targeted a combined Time and Attendance and Access control capability, with readers installed on internal and external doors and at car park barriers to manage physical entry and employee clocking.
Configuration included smart card credentialing used both for building and car park access and to clock in and out at any Time and Attendance reader. External car park barrier readers were specified to IP65 standard to operate outdoors without additional protection, and every reader’s security level was configurable by time of day so access control patterns could be set by shift and by area. The advanced reporting and analysing features of Tensor WinTA.NET consumed clocking information in real time to produce standard or customised reports for attendance and access audits.
Operational scope for the deployment was the St Neots manufacturing site, covering internal circulation points, external doors and vehicle access lanes, while ABB Limited’s UK footprint includes eight locations across Aberdeen, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Stevenage, St Neots, Stonehouse, Telford and Warrington. ABB engaged a local installer to commission the system, consolidating credentialed access and timekeeping into a single workflow. Smart card use enabled faster access into the car park and building, and the deployment emphasized configurable, shift-aware access governance tied to Time and Attendance data.

All Metal Services | Distribution | 340 | $96M | United Kingdom | Tensor plc | Tensor WinTA.NET | Time and Attendance | 2018 | n/a |
In 2018, All Metal Services implemented Tensor WinTA.NET as its Time and Attendance solution. Tensor WinTA.NET manages fingerprint scanner clocking across the company's six UK sites and supplies verified time and absence data into payroll workflows that cover 270 UK employees, 50 French employees and 20 India employees. The deployment supports standard Time and Attendance capabilities including biometric capture, shift and nightshift tracking, overtime recording and absence clocking for payroll reconciliation.
Operationally the Payroll Manager and HR Officer administers Tensor WinTA.NET day to day, handling starters and leavers, adjustments, promotions, pay rises, and monthly close processes while scanning and attaching HR documents such as sickness notes and proof of right to work into the system. Time data and summary journals generated from Tensor WinTA.NET are used in monthly payroll processing, feeding BACS and Faster Payments templates, HMRC RTI submissions, pension and PAYE calculations, and are included in the monthly journal sent to Reliance. Reporting modules are used to produce headcount, year to date and period check reports, audit reports, overtime and nightshift reports, absence and sickness clocking reports and Apprenticeship Levy journals for reconciliation. Governance responsibilities include payroll control activities, GDPR oversight, review of absence scoring procedures such as the Bradford Index and managing disciplinary and grievance record workflows tied to system records.

Amcor Group | Consumer Packaged Goods | 41000 | $14.7B | Switzerland | Tensor plc | Tensor WinTA.NET | Time and Attendance | 2005 | n/a |
In 2005, Amcor Group implemented Tensor WinTA.NET at its Amcor Flexibles Evesham manufacturing site in Worcestershire. The deployment addressed a need to update an older punch card clocking process and to centralize Time and Attendance and payroll-related workflows for the plant.
The technical implementation combined the WinTA Access Enterprise application, referred to as Tensor WinTA.NET, with on-premises hardware including multiple Tensor T3401 biometric and smart card readers, T1481G smart card scanners, several electromagnetic door locks, and an electronic clocking unit. Functional modules configured in the system included working rules configuration, access control, job costing, system security, Export to Payroll, holiday planning, and the Tensor ID Badge Designer package for PC-based badge issuance and visual badge checking.
Integrations were implemented via the WinTA.NET Export to Payroll capability, producing outputs compatible with major payroll packages such as Sage, Pegasus, Centrefile and Unipay. Safety and site control were extended through Fire Roll Call functionality configured to manage up to two printers for evacuation reporting, to generate automatic roll-call reports on fire alarm activation listing names and departments of on-site cardholders, to assign employees to specific fire assembly points, and to control door behavior on alarm activation and clearance.
The rollout occurred in the second half of 2005 and the system was put into operational use for time and attendance, payroll export and holiday planning under HR administration. Operational knowledge was transferred informally as original trained staff left, requiring successor staff to learn system operation on the job, and Tensor help desk support was used to resolve functionality issues after go-live. Amcor Flexibles Evesham reported that Tensor WinTA.NET helped make the transition from punch cards to an integrated Time and Attendance solution and eased HR department administration.

Arytza (IAWS) | Consumer Packaged Goods | 413 | $84M | United Kingdom | Tensor plc | Tensor WinTA.NET | Time and Attendance | 2014 | n/a |
In 2014, Arytza (IAWS) implemented Tensor WinTA.NET to manage Time and Attendance for agency staff. The deployment established Tensor WinTA.NET as the system of record for recording clock times, timesheets and workforce events that feed payroll preparation, reflecting Arytza's responsibility for payroll preparation for all Agency staff using Tensor Time and Attendance Software.
Configuration emphasized standard Time and Attendance capabilities including time capture and consolidation, rostering and scheduling support, absence management, exception handling and a timesheet approval workflow. Tensor WinTA.NET was configured to produce consolidated, payroll-ready time records and operational reports, with rules-based processing to align with agency pay rules and shift patterns.
Operational coverage targeted agency staff across Arytza's United Kingdom operations, and impacted business functions included payroll processing, HR administration and plant workforce management. Governance centered on centralizing payroll preparation responsibility within the payroll team, using approval and exception workflows in Tensor WinTA.NET to enforce process controls and consistent payroll inputs.

Beacon Foods Ltd | Retail | 203 | $51M | United Kingdom | Tensor plc | Tensor WinTA.NET | Time and Attendance | 2005 | n/a |
In 2005, Beacon Foods Ltd implemented Tensor WinTA.NET Time and Attendance. The deployment targeted their single 36,000 square foot BRC Grade AA factory in the Brecon Beacons and covered roughly 160 employees, delivering a unified workforce management platform for factory operations and HR functions.
Beacon Foods upgraded older 16 bit access control and time and attendance clocking stations and software to the latest Tensor suite, including WinAC.NET Access Control, WinHR.NET Tensor Personnel and the flagship Tensor WinTA.NET Time and Attendance, while also deploying the Tensor mobile Self Service Module called SSM. WinTA.NET Time and Attendance was configured to manage creation of working rules, job costing, system security and access control policies, aligning attendance capture with job costing and security requirements.
The implementation integrated upgraded clocking hardware and access control points with the Tensor application layer and provisioned the SSM mobile app for employee self service and remote attendance capture. Operational coverage focused on the factory site, bringing together time capture, access control and personnel data in a single application to support payroll and workforce scheduling workflows.
Governance centered on configuring system security and working time rules to ensure compliance with legislation such as the European Working Time Directive. Beacon Foods has continued using Tensor products for more than 15 years, indicating sustained operational reliance on Tensor WinTA.NET Time and Attendance and the associated WinAC.NET and WinHR.NET modules.
