Fristo Getrankemarkt | Retail | 1400 | $230M | Germany | Zebra Technologies | Zebra Mobility DNA | Endpoint Management | 2019 | CSG Computersysteme |
In 2019 FRISTO GETRÄNKEMARKT implemented Zebra Mobility DNA in an Endpoint Management deployment to standardize Android mobile computing across its retail estate. The project moved from a 15-store pilot to a full rollout across 220 stores in Germany and Austria using Zebra MC3300 mobile computers to run FRISTO's in-house order management application. Zebra Mobility DNA was used for device staging and configuration, with StageNow enabling rapid provisioning and Zebra OneCare covering device support. The deployment emphasized mobile device management capabilities typical of Endpoint Management, including secure configuration, application staging, remote troubleshooting and lifecycle coverage. Operational integration included using SOTI MobiControl to upload the order management application and to provide ongoing remote access, management, security and troubleshooting of in-store devices. The order management application was implemented to work seamlessly with existing POS and SAP systems, and store managers use MC3300 devices for inventory, price checks and stock ordering, which situates the program within store operations and IT support functions. The rollout was delivered with support from CSG Computersysteme following the pilot, and FRISTO's IT department managed staging and device provisioning workflows. Staff feedback called out the MC3300 screen, scanning performance, processing speed, battery life and combined touch and physical keyboard, and the deployment was described as increasing order management efficiency while creating a future-proof Android platform that enables consideration of additional Android solutions.

In 2019, Kaufland implemented Zebra Mobility DNA as the Endpoint Management foundation for a personal shopping solution across its stores. Kaufland began a Proof of Concept in 2018 with Re-Vision BV and moved to a production deployment that combined Zebra Mobility DNA with dedicated handheld and kiosk hardware to deliver a scalable in-store digital shopping experience.
The deployment centered on Zebra Mobility DNA capabilities including Enterprise Home Screen for device lockdown and user experience control, and StageNow for device staging and provisioning. Hardware and software components implemented included the Zebra PS20 Personal Shopper series for professional scanning, the CC6000 Customer Concierge for customer check-in, the mobile self-scanning app branded as K-Scan by Re-Vision, Zebra OneCare Select for support coverage, and Zebra Professional Services for consulting, project management, deployment, learning as a service, and custom scanner output-walls.
Integrations were executed with Kaufland's existing self-service checkout and CRM systems to ensure end-to-end shopping flows and transaction continuity between handheld scanning devices and checkout infrastructure. Operational coverage included in-store retail operations with explicit rollout signals in the Czech Republic where Kaufland recorded over 1 million personal shopper solution transactions, and business functions impacted included store operations, customer experience, and checkout processing.
Governance and rollout were managed through a mix of Re-Vision BV implementation services and Zebra Professional Services, combining device lifecycle management, staged rollout using StageNow, and a OneCare Select contract for ongoing device support. Outcomes reported by Kaufland included 99 percent customer satisfaction in multiple surveys, increased utilization of self-service checkouts, reduced waiting times, and reduced human interaction to support Covid-19 measures.

Lakeland | Retail | 1488 | $208M | United Kingdom | Zebra Technologies | Zebra Mobility DNA | Endpoint Management | 2018 | Peak-Ryzex |
In 2018, Lakeland implemented Zebra Mobility DNA as the core Endpoint Management solution for its in store Android device program, deploying Zebra Technologies TC51 Android touch computers across its UK footprint. The initial rollout covered 67 stores with an average of two to three devices per store deployed in five slot cradles, aligning device management and security under the Zebra Mobility DNA platform.
Zebra Mobility DNA was used to centralize device management, security and enterprise integration capabilities, with LifeGuard enabled for OS security updates and Zebra OneCare providing device support and uptime management. Functional capabilities surfaced on the TC51 devices included order management, global ticketing, shelf edge pricing, product labelling and point of sale adjacent workflows, all accessed via the mobility platform and device resident applications.
Lakeland’s IT team developed the store applications and used SOTI Stage to provision and integrate those applications to the Zebra TC51 devices, while Peak Ryzex managed LifeGuard over the air rollouts and update orchestration across the country. Operational coverage was explicitly retail store centric, supporting inventory, price checks, goods receipt, price markdowns and customer enquiry workflows, and enabled access to stock history, product videos and warehouse purchase order dates from the handheld devices.
Governance combined in house application development, partner led device lifecycle management and vendor support, with Peak Ryzex operating device security updates and Zebra OneCare supplying hardware support. Reported outcomes from the deployment included more streamlined in store operations, improved shopper engagement and reduced in store disruptions that contributed to time and cost efficiencies for Lakeland.
