Hunter Water Utilities 560 $287M Australia Hitachi Vantara Hitachi Ventyx Ellipse ERP ERP Financial 2012 n/a In 2012 Hunter Water implemented Hitachi Ventyx Ellipse ERP to establish an ERP Financial platform for corporate finance and operational asset support. The deployment was positioned to transition the utility from project mode into Business As Usual, with explicit attention to ongoing system upgrade cycles and operational control. Configuration work centered on financial and asset management capabilities common to ERP Financial systems, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable workflows, fixed asset accounting, and asset register maintenance. Systems administration was performed against ABB Ventyx Ellipse 8, with configuration controls established to support routine maintenance and versioned releases. A dedicated Integration Business Analyst role bridged project resources and Hunter Water permanent staff, leading Release Management and Defect Management process design and implementation to govern ongoing system revisions. The team developed a defect lifecycle, data storage and reporting solution to capture incidents, assign resolution ownership, and produce measurable status reporting during upgrade windows. Operational governance shifted to a BAU model covering finance and IT operations at Hunter Water, with process documentation and reporting enabling continued patching and version management. The Hitachi Ventyx Ellipse ERP implementation left a structured defect management and reporting capability that provided measurable resolution tracking and continuity for future upgrades.
