Apple | Manufacturing | 166000 | $416.2B | United States | UKG | UKG Workforce Central Absence Manager (ex Kronos Workforce Absence Manager) | Absence and Leave Management | 2008 | n/a | In 2008, Apple implemented UKG Workforce Central Absence Manager (ex Kronos Workforce Absence Manager) for Absence and Leave Management. The work focused on centralizing time and attendance, absence management, and accrual processing within Apple manufacturing operations, using Kronos Workforce Central V8.0 as the core timekeeping engine. Configuration work included detailed creation and maintenance of pay rules, pay code distributions, work rules, breaks, display profiles, schedule groups, security profiles, labor levels, and accrual profiles. The implementation extended to Data Collection Manager configuration for communication with over 250 Kronos wireless clocks and integration of Kronos 4500 devices, development of Connect scheduling interfaces to build Kronos schedules from third party systems, mass update interfaces for Kronos Timekeeping and Kronos HR, and design of shift, pattern, and scheduling templates. UKG Workforce Central Absence Manager was configured alongside ESS and MSS portal components and supported custom reporting through Oracle SQL stored procedures, views, functions and SSRS report delivery. Integrations were implemented to synchronize time and absence data with HR and payroll systems, including PeopleSoft HRMS, Oracle HCM cloud, ADP payroll and ADP Global View imports, SAP, Sage FAS Premier depreciation, and Red Prairie JDA WMS transaction posting. Carryover balance loads and Kronos interface table population were built via Oracle interfaces, and employee maintenance flows were established from Ultipro to Oracle to Kronos. The deployment included environment configuration required to develop, deploy and maintain Kronos interfaces and to identify and correct data set inconsistencies between HR and timekeeping using Kronos Connect and SQL analysis. Governance and operationalization work addressed SOX controls for logical access and environments and included creation of test scenarios for pay rules, validated ADP eTime imports, unit testing and UAT, and manufacturing test plans for Kronos components. The program followed full SDLC phases with production support for timekeeping, absence management and accruals, process profile modification and deployment, ongoing training for timekeepers and end users, and documentation of operational procedures and support activities. | |
