Jan Linders | Retail | 2000 | $547M | Netherlands | AFAS Software | AFAS HR | Core HR | 2017 | n/a | In 2017, Jan Linders implemented AFAS HR from AFAS Software as its Core HR application. The selection followed a formal package selection process after business stakeholders mapped requirements, driven by the fact that the old system no longer met the organization requirements. The initial scope targeted HRM and Payroll capabilities for Jan Linders, covering personnel administration for roughly 2000 employees based in the Netherlands. AFAS HR was configured to deliver core HRM and payroll processing capabilities, with emphasis on employee master data, payroll runs, absence and time workflows, and configurable HR approval workflows consistent with Core HR deployments. Configuration work prioritized business-driven parameterization and process design to minimize bespoke development, while standard HR functional modules were instrumented to support operational HR and payroll tasks. The program used a shared project leadership model, with a company implementation lead serving as shared project leader during build and go live. After go live the same lead transitioned into a project manager role to manage further optimizations and successive implementations, and to run the aftercare phase toward formal transfer of operational ownership to the business. Governance focused on business stakeholder involvement for requirements mapping and a structured handover to HR operations. | |
