Adrian Steel | Manufacturing | 450 | $50M | United States | Oracle | Oracle Cloud ERP | ERP Financial | 2024 |
In 2024 Adrian Steel implemented Oracle Cloud ERP, an ERP Financial application, to consolidate its financial systems and centralize finance operations across 19 locations. The program was led from the IT organization and executed with Apps Associates as the system integrator, following a consolidation from seven ERP systems to Oracle Cloud Fusion to establish a single financial platform.
Implementation focused on core financial management capabilities within Oracle Cloud ERP, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, cash management, procurement, and financial reporting and close automation. Configuration work emphasized multi entity chart of accounts harmonization, centralized treasury controls, role based access and workflow automation to support month end close and statutory reporting processes.
The deployment integrated with existing collaboration and operational tooling that the company had standardized, including Microsoft 365 and Microsoft CoPilot for collaboration and AI assisted workflows, shop floor mobile applications, a vendor portal, customer portal and the established help desk software to align transactional flows. Operational coverage extended across finance, procurement, operations and IT functions and supported ongoing mergers and acquisitions activity by consolidating transactional and master data into the Oracle Cloud environment.
Governance and rollout leveraged the companys ITIL based governance, an active Change Advisory Board and Business Information Managers to coordinate release management, change control and business process ownership. Apps Associates executed a phased rollout aligned to governance waves and entity consolidation, with standardized workflows, role based security, and audit controls introduced to support compliance and financial control.

Avail Infrastructure Solutions | Manufacturing | 2002 | $600M | United States | Oracle | Oracle E-Business Suite | ERP Financial | 2021 |
In 2021 Avail Infrastructure Solutions engaged Apps Associates to begin implementation of Oracle E-Business Suite as its primary ERP Financial application and to migrate enterprise workloads onto Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The program included co-deployment of Oracle Application Express and Splash BI, and was executed as a two phased effort with Phase 1 focused on Oracle E-Business Suite, Apex, and Splash BI and Phase 2 covering Oracle Enterprise Manager and Disaster Recovery. The project reached production go-live on May 22, 2023 after two condensed months of Phase 1 activity and iterative non-production and dry-run validations.
The deployment provisioned Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2.10 with Oracle Database 19.15, supporting a 3 TB E-Business database and discrete server roles for EBS, Splash BI, Apex, and OEM. Implementation work emphasized core ERP Financial capabilities for enterprise accounting and transactional processing, environment cloning and provisioning via infrastructure as code, and use of an Oracle Physical Standby database to replicate production data for cloud build and cutover minimization. Rackware was used to replicate operating system images for the EBS database and application tiers to ensure consistency across TEST and PROD iterations.
Architecture and integrations included OCI regional deployment across Ashburn and Phoenix with connectivity between Avail corporate and AZZ on-premises datacenters using FastConnect over MegaPort. Public-facing external services were placed behind Oracle Application Demilitarized zone modules and underwent penetration testing, while email flows used Office 365 with OCI SMTP. Non-production landscapes were built to mirror production for unit testing and user acceptance testing, and a temporary OCI instance supported the carve-out activities required for Avail’s separation from its parent company.
Governance and rollout emphasized iterative validation and cutover risk mitigation, including one non-prod iteration and one dry-run on future production infrastructure, and the use of standby database sources to minimize downtime during final cutover. The program encountered network and access challenges with parent company firewall rules, plant-level device issues such as printers and barcode scanners, and scope changes that required additional cloning during cutover, all managed by reassigning resources to meet the condensed timeline. Explicit outcomes called out by the engagement included modernized infrastructure, faster cloning and environment provisioning, performance improvements, greater cloud agility and capacity, automated full stack Disaster Recovery, and an improved price for performance following migration to OCI.
