Masterflex Group | Manufacturing | 300 | $95M | Germany | Sepia | Sepia Alterra PIM | Product Information Management | 2021 | In 2021, Masterflex Group implemented Sepia Alterra PIM as its central Product Information Management solution to consolidate product master data across its six corporate brands and 14 operating subsidiaries worldwide. Sepia Alterra PIM was deployed under a SaaS compliant architecture, with an explicit requirement for full auto upgradability driving the technical approach from project initiation in January 2021 and continuing through the present implementation phase. The implementation focused on core Product Information Management capabilities including structured product modeling, attribute taxonomy and classification, variant and bill of materials support, digital asset management for technical drawings and marketing collateral, and channel syndication workflows for e-commerce and sales catalogs. Configuration emphasized configurable data models and governed editorial workflows, enabling controlled authoring and approval of product records and localized content for multiple markets. Integration architecture was designed around API based connectors and service orchestration to achieve seamless data flow between Sepia Alterra PIM and Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, with channel syndication aligned to the existing Sana Commerce storefronts. BE-terna served as the system integrator managing the technical integration and implementation delivery, coordinating the PIM to ERP synchronization patterns and catalog exports to commerce channels. Governance and rollout were structured to protect the SaaS upgrade surface, with customizations scoped as extension layers and isolated integration contracts to preserve auto upgradability. The project explicitly faced the challenge of meeting strict SaaS compliance and auto upgrade requirements, which shaped design decisions around customization, testing, and deployment automation for product data governance and cross functional consumption by engineering, sales, and e-commerce teams.

VAT Group | Manufacturing | 2983 | $1.0B | Switzerland | Microsoft | Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management | Supply Chain Management | 2017 | In 2017 VAT Group implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management as part of a strategic move with Microsoft and SI/VAR BE-terna to prepare for rapid growth and a cloud-first operating model. VAT Group AG entered the project after an extensive selection process where BE-terna led scenario workshops and the company committed to a Microsoft platform approach suited to its global leadership in high-vacuum valve manufacturing. The implementation centered on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management with a modular ERP architecture that supports production process management and business process optimization. The deployment emphasized configurable supply chain and production capabilities aligned to the Supply Chain Management category, and the platform was sized to allow additional Finance and customer-specific functional extensions over time. VAT opted for a cloud deployment model to gain flexibility, scalability, plannable costs, expert maintenance, and enhanced security, leveraging the Microsoft Business Application platform to extend functionality. The platform approach enables the creation of internal apps that access Dynamics 365 business data and device capabilities such as cameras and GPS, supporting shop floor and mobile workflows without custom core changes. Governance and rollout followed a structured engagement with BE-terna, the ERP project beginning in June with a planned go-live to simplify everyday work for about 2,000 users by 2021. Operational scope emphasized production and business process owners in manufacturing and corporate functions, and the implementation was positioned to support ongoing innovation by enabling employee-driven app development within the Dynamics 365 ecosystem.

Alfdex | Manufacturing | 170 | $72M | Sweden | Microsoft | Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations | ERP Financial | 2021 | In 2021, Alfdex implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as its ERP Financial platform, replacing Microsoft Dynamics AX. The decision to adopt Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations was driven by a strategic requirement to support international expansion and to follow physical warehouse growth with a more capable back end. BE-terna led the deployment and applied an upgrade approach that built on Alfdex’s prior Microsoft Dynamics AX2009 to AX2012 evolution, emphasizing standard configuration over heavy customization. The implementation focused on core ERP Financial capabilities including multi site finance controls, inventory control, supply chain and production planning modules, and configuration that supports extensibility for future site rollouts. Operational scope covered manufacturing and supply chain functions tied to Alfdex’s crankcase gas separator production and distribution, with the ERP Financial platform instrumenting inventory control and enabling a visualized production plan. The implementation targeted finance, operations and warehouse processes to ensure consistent multi site financial management and supply chain orchestration as Alfdex expanded geographically. Governance centered on maximizing out of the box functionality to reduce project cost and minimize vendor lock in, with BE-terna executing the configuration and rollout strategy. Explicit outcomes from the project include improved ERP functionality, more efficient inventory control and a stabilized back end that positions Alfdex to grow internationally using Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations.
