The implementation leveraged Vista’s open enrollment wizard, time and attendance capabilities, the Issue Detective data validation tool, and the EasyAsk query tool, and Sweetser plans to deploy Vista Analytics and Performance Management next.
Operational integration included employee self-service portals and mobile time entry for frontline staff, manager approval workflows for timecards, and data feeds from Vista into third-party benefits providers’ systems for open enrollment processing. Sweetser used Vista’s import functionality to ingest employee records extracted to Excel, a capability that was used to add approximately 200 acquired employees and to bulk-load annual pay increases, reducing manual data entry work for HR.
Governance and process changes centered on centralizing a single repository for HR and payroll data, enforcing approval tracking for timecards, and configuring annual benefits changes in Vista to streamline open enrollment. Explicit outcomes reported by Sweetser include elimination of paper timecards, reduction in payroll processing effort from three staff working 10-hour days to two staff completing payroll earlier in the week, and substantial time savings for benefits enrollment by moving from a multi-day manual process to employee self-service using PDS Vista Payroll.
