Equitable | Banking and Financial Services | 8000 | $12.4B | United States | CorpTax | CSC CorpTax | Tax Management | 2020 | n/a |
In 2020 Equitable implemented CSC CorpTax as its Tax Management solution to centralize US income tax provision and reporting across life and non life business lines. The CSC CorpTax deployment was scoped to support annual and quarterly tax close and tax return procedures for a large US public company.
Implementation work focused on configuring posting balances into CSC CorpTax based on SAP S/4HANA ledger and subledger FPSL, converting tax accounts from SAP Copernic to SAP S/4HANA, and automating tax adjustments. Functional capabilities implemented included tax provision orchestration, automation of investments, reserves and DAC adjustments, automation of GAAP to STAT and other tax adjustments, and production of SAP S/4HANA reports specific to US income tax reporting.

Kiewit | Construction and Real Estate | 31100 | $17.1B | United States | CorpTax | CSC CorpTax | Tax Management | 2018 | n/a |
In 2018, Kiewit implemented CSC CorpTax to centralize tax provision and compliance workflows. The deployment targeted Tax Management across Accounting and Tax business functions to remove spreadsheet-driven controls and unify provision through return processes.
Kiewit deployed CSC CorpTax Provision, Office, and Data Exchange Manager, and Pass-Through, configuring out-of-the-box functionality to avoid customization. The implementation automated trial balance and data imports, leveraged built-in federal and state calculations, and enabled two-way dataflow with Excel to import M adjustments and other inputs.
The solution used direct connections to source systems to automate data and trial balance imports and provided a single authoritative entity registry for hundreds of partnerships, joint ventures, and legal entities across multiple jurisdictions. Operational coverage included Accounting and Tax departments, consolidating roughly 270 annual provisions and streamlining return-to-provision processes for more than 130 legal entities.
Centralizing entity data and provision workflows in CSC CorpTax created a single source of truth, eliminating repeated manual reconciliation of the same entity data across departments. Governance updates standardized provision-to-return flows, automated provision summaries that roll quarter to quarter, and enabled reuse of return data for RTP to enforce consistent calculations and documentation.
Kiewit reports that one person now performs the provision for 50 corporations in one week, RTP analysis and documentation for over 130 legal entities was reduced by 75 percent, and the team accomplishes the work with half as many team members. The tax department reuses 90 percent of return data for RTP with no manual work, and Kiewit characterized CSC CorpTax support as instrumental in a smooth implementation.
