SKAN | Manufacturing | 1388 | $370M | Switzerland | SAP | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | 2020 | In 2020, SKAN implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform to consolidate project-centric manufacturing and financial processes. Aveniq acted as the implementation partner while operational hosting and managed services continued to be provided by GIA Informatik in the SAP Cloud@GIA data centers, aligning the deployment with SKAN Group requirements for multilingual, cross-company process support during rapid global growth. The implementation covered core modules and configurations driven by SKAN requirements, including customer project management, internal cost accounting and service planning, customer system management, and test equipment management. The SAP S/4 HANA deployment was configured to better map project production and production workflows, to automate order processing, and to provide degree of completion reporting from the system without manual compilation, improving process efficiency and data consistency. Integrations were executed with the Pro.File product data management system to streamline product development interfaces and parts list creation, and the SAP systems were operated in SAP Cloud@GIA to centralize data and ensure infrastructure redundancy. The rollout followed prior regional expansions, with functional deployments extended to sheet metal processing in Görlitz and to service and sales subsidiaries in Germany, the USA and Japan, supporting end-to-end order to service flows across SKAN’s global sites. Governance combined retained internal application and process know-how with long-term partner support, SKAN building internal capabilities in applications, processes and recruiting while GIA and Aveniq provided ongoing support and advisory services. Explicit outcomes reported by SKAN include improved data quality, increased processing speed, better overall system visibility and continuous optimization of automated customer order handling.

Schweizer Salinen | Manufacturing | 150 | $17M | Switzerland | SAP | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | 2016 | In 2016 Schweizer Salinen began a greenfield implementation of SAP S/4 HANA in the ERP Financial category to re-engineer core business processes and replace SAP R/3. The project kicked off with process recording in February 2016 and executed staged go-lives, with Saline de Bex going live on January 1 2019 and Riburg and Schweizerhalle launched on April 1 2019, covering the company operational sites Bex, Riburg and Schweizerhalle. The implementation used an industry template approach based on the GIA//Manufacturing model to map defined process modules to SAP S/4 HANA and determine which scenarios would follow SAP standard configuration versus customer-specific extensions. Functional scope emphasized order processing, production and storage workflows, finance process re-engineering and electronic data exchange capabilities to strengthen integration with customers, suppliers and partners. SAP S/4 HANA was configured to increase automation across these modules and to centralize transactional data for a single system of record across sites. Architecturally the deployment was provisioned as a cloud-hosted SAP S/4 HANA instance operated via GIA Informatik cloud services, with the implementation program listing Aveniq as an SI VAR in procurement documentation and GIA Informatik delivering project implementation and infrastructure. Peripheral systems were assessed for cloud capability and interfaced to the new ERP, and electronic data exchange channels were established to improve supplier and customer integration. The greenfield approach removed customized extensions that previously prevented standard process mapping in SAP R/3 and provided a consolidated application platform for finance and operational functions. Governance and operational change emphasized structured change management and staged rollout to accommodate seasonal business constraints in the winter months, including targeted training for staff migrating from SAP R/3 and standardized SAP project management practices. The program explicitly delivered higher levels of process automation, faster and higher quality operational processing, and unified access to data across the three locations, and Schweizer Salinen continues to pursue additional automation and device and object connectivity as follow-on work within the SAP S/4 HANA environment.

Rivella Group | Consumer Packaged Goods | 260 | $40M | Switzerland | SAP | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | 2018 | Rivella Group selected SAP S/4HANA in 2018 as its ERP Financial core, replacing a legacy SAP platform that had been running on an Oracle database. The project centered on migrating the existing SAP landscape to the HANA in‑memory platform and preparing the business for S/4HANA-era functionality. GIA Informatik AG executed the migration and now operates Rivella’s SAP systems from its Oftringen data center; Aveniq is listed as the SI/VAR. Implementation work included Tailored Datacenter Integration (TDI) infrastructure at Rivella, an initial sandbox migration to validate runtimes, and a staged cutover (development migration from Oracle to HANA, functional QA/integration testing, then productive go‑live). Functional scope emphasized a central planning tool for sales, promotion and investment planning and a set of performance‑intensive BI applications; HANA’s built‑in BW capabilities removed the need for a separate BW server. The program required adjustment and optimization of custom ABAP that exhibited long runtimes, and delivered explicit technical outcomes reported by the project team (substantially faster transaction and program processing and reduced storage through HANA compression), positioning the company for broader digital transformation and S/4HANA adoption.
