Aioi Nissay Dowa UK Insurance 592 $120M United Kingdom Guidewire Guidewire InsuranceSuite Insurance ERP 2019 n/a
In 2019, Aioi Nissay Dowa UK implemented Guidewire InsuranceSuite, deploying Guidewire InsuranceSuite as its Insurance ERP to support policy administration, claims handling, and car insurance quoting functions. Aioi Nissay Dowa UK positioned the project within IT Operations, with the Operations Workstream owner ensuring operational readiness for launch and continuity of 24 x 7 production support for the organisation's two call centre teams, Service and Claims, and the Car Insurance Quote Service. The implementation covered core Insurance ERP capabilities consistent with Guidewire InsuranceSuite, including policy administration and claims processing, alongside quoting and rating workflows used by the business. The application was provisioned as a Java 8 web application on Tomcat 9, using Microsoft SQL Server for persistence and leveraging AWS RDS and AWS EC2 for compute and database hosting, with container and automation tooling such as Docker and HashiCorp components used for operational provisioning. Deployment and operations were hybrid cloud focused, using AWS IAM for environment access control and Rackspace Data Centre Management during the ANDE Data Centre Migration Programme which merged ANDE and ITB infrastructure. Monitoring and operational telemetry were implemented with Sensu and ELKstack, while Jira Service Desk and Confluence were matured as the service management and runbook platforms to support application support and incident workflows. Governance was formalised under existing Incident, Change and Problem Management processes with the operations lead accountable for enabling Helpdesk, Application Support and Systems Administration teams. The operations team managed third party provider relationships and operational spend oversight, ensuring the operational model and support staff were aligned to the Insurance ERP service model prior to and following go live.
Alberta Motor Association Insurance 1777 $225M Canada Guidewire Guidewire InsuranceSuite Insurance ERP 2015 n/a
In 2015 Alberta Motor Association implemented Guidewire InsuranceSuite as its Insurance ERP to modernize core system infrastructure and operations and better address the evolving needs of its agents and customers. The selection was influenced by experience at its sister association CAA South Central Ontario Insurance Company, and Alberta Motor Association proceeded to configure Guidewire InsuranceSuite for its personal lines. The implementation concentrated on Guidewire modules BillingCenter, ClaimCenter and PolicyCenter within Guidewire InsuranceSuite, configured specifically for Personal Auto and Property lines of business. Configuration work targeted core functional capabilities for policy administration, claims management and billing operations, aligning product configuration and business rules to support policy lifecycle and customer servicing. Configuration and automation efforts encompassed policy lifecycle management, rating and underwriting rule configuration, claims intake through resolution workflows, and billing cycles and receivables processing consistent with Insurance ERP operational patterns. These modules were integrated into cross-functional operational workflows for underwriting, claims, billing and agency servicing to establish a unified data model and process orchestration across business functions. Governance for the deployment established joint ownership between IT, claims and underwriting, and rollout coordination leveraged the sister association relationship for implementation guidance and best practice alignment. Collin Moody, Vice President and Chief Information Officer, noted that after deeper technical evaluation the merits of Guidewire InsuranceSuite stood on their own, reinforcing the organizationwide commitment to standardize core processing on Guidewire InsuranceSuite.
