Optus | Communications | 8000 | $5.1B | Australia | In-House Applications | MyRamsay | Workforce Management | 2021 | n/a | In 2021, Optus implemented MyRamsay as its Workforce Management application, deploying the in-house MyRamsay solution alongside a broader initiative to build a SAP S/4 HANA powered digital core. The year marks the articulation of the MyRamsay deployment in the context of Optus committing to a digital core upgrade, which the company described as enabling seamless integration with cloud and peripheral products to enhance customer and operational experience. MyRamsay was configured to deliver core Workforce Management capabilities, including shift rostering and scheduling, time and attendance tracking, skills and certification management, and mobile workforce support for field operations. Configuration work emphasized standard workforce workflows, role-based access, compliance reporting, and operational scheduling automation typical of telco workforce scenarios. The deployment was positioned to operate alongside Optus’s planned SAP S/4 HANA foundation, with architecture materials indicating future scope for SAP CX, SAP Integrated Business Planning, and SAP Ariba in adjacent domains such as customer experience and supply chain planning. Optus’s slides also recorded evaluations of SAP blockchain applications and SAP IoT with augmented analytics for use cases such as device security and predictive maintenance for tower infrastructure, however no advancement of those evaluations was disclosed. Governance and rollout preparation for MyRamsay were part of initial scoping work that refined an engagement model with SAP and assembled an all-encompassing roadmap to provide a future-proof IT platform. The scoping emphasized orchestrating multiple SAP and cloud components into a unified roadmap, while aiming to preserve ongoing value from existing investments as the new foundation was defined. | |
