Blue Prism Credential Manager was used to secure and retrieve credentials, Application Modeler was used to create element models by spying on target applications, and the MAPIEx add on library was used to manipulate mailboxes. Development included creating process and object designs, building algorithms for error detection and error correction to enable self recovery behaviors for robots.
Deployment and operations followed a staged approach with solutions moved into test and live environments, and production support handled through Control Room monitoring and troubleshooting. The program created an RPA structure and team, with hands on RPA Developer and Technical Consultant roles responsible for building processes, supporting production robots and maintaining the Blue Prism environment. Automated MI reporting for Blue Prism processes was created in MS Access and Excel with exploration of running reporting in MS SQL Server using an MS Access front end.
Governance and quality assurance practices were documented and institutionalized, including solution, process and object design documentation, business flow documentation and published test procedures. Test disciplines included preparation of test data and execution of system testing, functional testing, regression testing and database testing, with test scenarios publicized for pre production phases.
