Shionogi | Life Sciences | 5200 | $3.0B | Japan | Stibo Systems | Stibo MDM | Master Data Management | 2025 |
In 2025, Shionogi implemented Stibo Systems MDM as its Master Data Management platform, deploying Stibo MDM to strengthen its enterprise data management framework. The initiative was delivered in collaboration with Hitachi Systems and follows Shionogi's January 22, 2025 strategic partnership announcement to leverage data and generative AI for pharmaceutical and healthcare services.
The deployment targets multi-domain master data management, with the Stibo Systems MDM platform configured to centralize product, organization, location and calendar domains. Functional capabilities implemented include entity master modeling, hierarchy management, stewardship workflows and consolidated reference data management to support consistent product and organizational information.
Hitachi Systems supported the design and implementation to align the solution with Shionogi business requirements, working closely with Stibo Systems throughout the program. The implementation is positioned to affect product management, regulatory recordkeeping and corporate data governance by providing a single trusted source of master data across operational and planning processes.
Stibo Systems will continue collaboration to evolve and expand MDM capabilities, with the SaaS-based Stibo Systems MDM platform underpinning efforts in data governance, operational efficiency and Shionogi's broader global digital transformation and sustainable growth objectives.

Clopay | Manufacturing | 2900 | $1.6B | United States | Oracle | Oracle Cloud Infrastructure | Application Hosting and Computing Services | 2021 |
In 2021, Clopay migrated its Oracle infrastructure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The project was executed as a five-year migration and support agreement and is categorized under Application Hosting and Computing Services, aligning the hosting layer with Clopay business systems that support order booking and dealer ordering workflows.
The implementation moved a customized environment of Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Business Intelligence, Oracle Database, and Oracle Demantra to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, including Oracle iStore and Configurator customizations. Within six months 127 terabytes of data were migrated across four production environments, and the environment retained Clopay-specific configurations and personalization during the cutover.
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure was deployed as the primary hosting and compute layer to scale transaction processing and reduce latency for internal and dealer-facing workflows. With E-Business Suite on OCI Clopay realized a 20 percent improvement in order booking performance, the ordering system was scaled to support a two times increase in online business, and dealers experienced faster processing times and lower latency on the custom garage door ordering system.
The migration integrated highly customized, in-house developed applications with Oracle modules, and partners extended Clopay team responsibilities to manage customization and testing. Hitachi refined custom code and updated E-Business Suite personalization, Evoke Technologies executed application functionality and integration testing, Cybernoor optimized Oracle iStore customizations and recommended performance changes, Peak preserved the configurator process, and Oracle Advanced Customer Services provided migration planning and ongoing managed services.
Operational coverage included Clopay manufacturing and distribution footprint across two manufacturing plants, more than 50 distribution centers in the United States and Canada, and roughly 3,000 independent dealers in North America. The move to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure produced an explicitly stated 28 percent annual reduction in operating costs, enabled more efficient allocation of product capacity to 52 distribution centers through customer segmentation and prioritization, and positioned Clopay to adopt future Oracle innovations and pursue growth and acquisitions.

Abcam | Life Sciences | 1760 | $481M | United Kingdom | Oracle | Oracle Cloud ERP | ERP Financial | 2017 |
In 2017, Abcam implemented Oracle Cloud ERP as its cloud based finance platform, aligning the program under the ERP Financial category. The deployment used Oracle Fusion Cloud components and was executed on site in Cambridge with Hitachi Systems as the system integrator, with a dedicated UAT Project Manager active from June 2017 to December 2017.
The implementation covered multiple functional workstreams, including Financials and Record to Report, Order Management and Order to Cash to Resolution, Source to Settle procurement flows, Plan to Produce and warehouse related supply chain processes, Call to Resolution for support workflows, HCM Hire to Retire, and Configure Price Quote. Oracle Cloud ERP was configured to support these modules and to enforce traceability of application design to business requirements while supervising designs and quality reviews across consultants.
Architecture and integrations emphasized cloud interfaces and middleware, with explicit connections to Service Cloud, Public Website logfile feeds, and the Warehouse Management System including cloud interfaces, and testing of Oracle middleware for non functional performance. The delivery model integrated application objects across functional consultants to ensure components met performance and quality goals and to enable cross stream data flows between finance, order management, CPQ and supply chain components.
Governance and rollout focused on program controls and rigorous testing practices, the development of a Project Controls Plan, preparation of a UAT plan and schedule, a defined triage process for UAT, management of unit and UAT testing cycles, defect tracking and closure, non functional testing of middleware, and budget and resource management. The program management team supervised three business analysts aligned to workstreams and five Hitachi technical developers assigned by Oracle module, and participated in quality reviews to ensure requirement traceability.
